Personally, I think the man is a genius, but I have no idea how many people will have heard his music here at all.

Most will recognise him as the guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers... but if you don't like that band, Frusciante solo is completely different. He has said several times that he keeps his solo and Chili Peppers work totally seperate.

As for what to listen to, The Empryean, his latest record, was released in the last two months, and is particularly excellent. One of his most popular songs is 'The Past Recedes' from 'Curtains', for which there is a music video:

One of my favourites is 'Time Tonight' (part of the lyrics are in my sig), which I believe one can find a live performance of somewhere on these interwebs.
