I am currently reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I'm reading it for the 3rd time i think because it is pretty much genius and i love it.
Re: What are you reading?
Right now I'm reading Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult.
I started it in the summer, but never made it past the first chapter haha, so I'm giving it another go.

i'm going to try and start reading a lion among men by gregory maguire. he's the guy who wrote wicked and they adapted the broadway musical from his book. it's the third book in the wicked series, but i just can't seem to get into it like i did the last two books, but i really want to read it, so i'm going to sit down and start reading. i want to check out his other books too, he basically takes all the stories that you know, like the wizard of oz (after watching and reading wicked, i feel bad for elpheba. she was just misunderstood), cinderella, snow white, etc. and like give you the story behind the story. it makes you look at the stories you know much differently.
Re: What are you reading?
^^^ did he ever write a alice in wonderland one, someone said he did but i have yet to find it.
I am currently reading "writing down the bones", i really recommend it for anyone with writer's block its more free whats inside than "i before except after c" kinda thing. This is actually my second time reading it the first time i actually finished a short story (which is amazing cuz i never finish stories i start) now i am just hoping to finish a sentence at least.

ok, doesn't look like he did. but he did write an amas of short stories, including one for a gay and lesbian book. now i must search it out
he wrote loads of books for children though

Yeah it's jst like magical thinking. I'm actually reading that one right now also. Other than magical thinking I've only read Wolf at the Table but I read that that one is obviously very different from his others. All good reads though.
Re: What are you reading?
if you liked a wolf at the table, you would really like dry too... those two are indeed very different from the others.. sellevision made me laugh quite a bit too..

I just bought this book alongside The Informers, by Brett Easton Ellis. I am reading The Informers right now and I am going to move onto Chbosky next, I hear it is a great read!
The Informers takes place in the 1980's LA drug scene, which for some odd reason really interests me. I like Easton's writing style a lot, though it doesn't leave me with a sense of fulfillment. They are making a movie with Winona Ryder and Billy Bob Thorton, it looks like it will be good!
Re: What are you reading?
Independence Day, by Richard Ford.
I'll admit, I picked it up because of Sara Quin, but I do enjoy it a lot. (To my defense though, none of the books I originally wanted were avaliable at my bookstore, so I picked it up).

Re: What are you reading?
I am reading Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk. He is probably my favorite author at the moment, and I was so glad to see this book in paperback when I was in the book store today because it is the only one I have yet to read.
It's...interesting to say the least. I think by the title you can just imagine.

This book called "French or Foe?". It's very funny to see the differences of American and French culture.

Re: What are you reading?
"Failed States" by Noam Chomsky.
It's so good to read about why American democracy sucks. I almost forgot that I didn't like America. But no worries!
