Hesta Prynn

hesta has a side project, hesta prynn in civil shepherd. she has a couple of shows cming up, one this wednesday in nyc plus a few dates opening with melissa ferrick!

I love her! I just got her EP and t-shirt this week. Excellent use of $25, and she did in fact hand sign the Ep. I really hope I can make some of her shows this year but it looks like summer classes are going to shatter these plans.

Did you buy her EP yet? It's really solid.

Yea me too. If the EP is an indicator it will be great. Has she said when it will be released yet?

not that i know of, but i'm pretty sure that she is already working with chuck mixing and mastering. it's just those 5 songs that were officially complete. i'm hoping soon.

And more importantly why was she in it? It was sort of amazing.

hesta's soy commercial is hit or miss on when you will see it. i've seen it a couple of times. and i heard that soy was using 'real' people to promote soy milk. i believe i read in an interview that she was e-mailed and sprout was as well, about the commercial, but i can't really remember where exactly i heard that

I think this was maybe the second time I've seen it? The first would've been a long time ago..

As for the 'real-people' thing, she does fit that role quite nicely, cause no one really knows her... If I didn't know Northern State, I definately wouldn't know who she is.. She'd just be like any other random girl on tv haha

hesta's show was amazing tonight. got to chat with my friends, and more friends i didn't realize would be there, like sara and the american princes, plus went to their show. i'm currently sitting at the airport waiting for my 7am flight, but i have pictures and i'll upload them in the afternoon after i have a nap but all i have to say, go catch her play live. she's got some dates with melissa ferrick coming up in june

I'm trying to work out a way to see her in Philly or New York this summer. I got some friends of mine obsessed with her too so I would have company .

the show was sooo good. i loved it. totally worth the major train annoyance that went down...

it was a very enjoyable show, so if you can catch her with melissa ferrick for the couple of days in june, i highly, highly recommend it!

it was a really decent crowd. i would say about 35 - 50 people were there in the room and probably another 15-20 in the bar. mercury lounge is not a very big place, so it looked pretty packed during her set. i didn't stay for the last two bands, i went to go see another friends band play, so i'm not sure if there were more people after that or if hesta got the most people

That sounds really nice and intimate. Good for her.
